Enphase lists the IQ Battery 5P at 5.0 kWh usable capacity with 3.84 kW continuous power, and peak output of 7.68 kW for 3 seconds. It is an AC-coupled unit with six embedded grid-forming microinverters.
Enphase specifies cobalt-free lithium iron phosphate cells with 90% roundtrip efficiency, designed to be stacked. The warranty is 15 years, rated up to 6,000 cycles.
Where they differ on paper
Single-unit scale is the big split. The aPower 2 lists 15 kWh and 10 kW continuous in one unit, while the IQ Battery 5P lists 5.0 kWh and 3.84 kW continuous per module. Reaching aPower capacity with Enphase means stacking three or more 5P units.
Architecture differs too. The 5P is AC-coupled with six embedded microinverters, while the aPower 2 works with FranklinWH's aGate controller for whole-home management.
